Play reading / Quiz night
A date for your diaries. Following the success of the recent play reading / social nights we will be holding another one on Saturday June 22nd. This will involve a short performance of “Clever Clogs” as a practice run for the cast before going on to Hunstanton. This will then be followed by a fun quiz. Further details will follow.
AGM
The AGM will be held on Thursday July 4th. We currently have at least one space on the committee. When we reach the AGM we will likely have 3 spaces due to various personal circumstances. As ever the continued running of our society is dependent on the hard work of the committee, who freely give up their time. If the spaces were not filled this would leave us with a diminished committee, therefore putting more pressure on those members remaining, who already give up their time whilst managing full time jobs and families. If anyone is interested in standing and becoming part of the committee please let me know.
It is a tough time for amateur dramatic societies, I believe one of the Skegness groups has had to fold and it was deeply regrettable to see that BOS had to cancel their show at the last minute. You will also be aware that we had to cancel our Spring production this year. With this in mind for Playgoers to continue to be successful we need the membership to help support the society. If you are not a cast member for a production then we would always welcome help backstage etc. Nomination forms and other paperwork in preparation for the AGM will be emailed out nearer the time.
Love From a Stranger
Last but by no means least. The society has received fantastic news that our recent production of Agatha Christie’s Love From A Stranger has been nominated for a NODA award. The production was superb so a massive congratulations to all the cast, crew and everyone involved for this well deserved nomination.
